COWBOY CARNIVAL AND PICNIC DINNER & MOVIE UNDER THE STARS– The DPTO is working very hard to put together a wonderful fun filled evening for our students and parents. This will take place on Friday, May 8 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Cowboy theme games and great food will be available for everyone, and there will be a great family movie – The Book Of Life – projected for everyone at 6:00 p.m. Dress up in cowboy gear, bring a blanket and come have a delightful family experience. Teachers are asked to organize and host a game in one of two shifts from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. More information will be given at Area Meeting this Wednesday.
DISCOVERY IDOL – Our annual talent show is around the corner! Students can audition their songs, dances or other talents on Thursday, May 7, and Friday 8. The talent show will take place on Wednesday, May 20 at 10:15 p.m.
END OF THE YEAR RECUP EXAMS FOR MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL – Please take note of the following information:
- There will be one (1) “recuperation week” at the end of the school year (June 15 – 19).
- Passing grade is 70%.
- “Retrasada” class – only 1 subject is allowed to be taken the following school year.
- If the student fails 2 or more subjects at the end of his/her “recuperation” week, he/she will need to repeat the school year.
SEMESTER EXAMS FOR GRADES 8 – 12 only – Last day to introduce new material – Thursday, May 21
Review days – Friday, May 22, Monday, May 25, and Tuesday, May 26
Semester Exams – Wednesday, May 27, Thursday, May 28, and Friday, May 29
HONORS BREAKFAST FOR MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS – The Discovery School Staff and Administration will celebrate with all Honor Roll students on Friday, May 8 @ 7:00 with an Honors Breakfast. Invitations will be sent home soon.
SCHOOL AWARDS CEREMONY – The Discovery School Staff and Administration will recognize all students that have represented the school and have had an outstanding participating in the different events throughout the school year. This ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 21.
