9A & 9B Familiarize your self with these terms and concepts: autocracy, serfs, Alexander II, pogroms, Trans-Siberian Railroad, Russ-Japanese War, socialist republic, Vladimir Lenin, Bloody Sunday, and Duma, these relate to Russia. These are about India: British East India Company, Sepoy Mutiny, Raj, Indian National Congress, and Muslim League. These relate to East Asia: unequal treaties, extraterritoriality, Taping Rebellion, Boxer Rebelion, Sun Yixian, Treaty of Kanagawa, Emperor Meiji, Sino-Japanese War. These are associated with Africa: Social Darwinism, Cecil Rhodes, Suez Canal, Berlin Conference, Leopold II, Shaka, and Menelik II.
